The University of the Arts Admissions

Here to answer admissions questions & provide info about UArts and to share interesting work, stories or other items from UArts and Philadelphia.

Have a question? Go ahead, ask!

We also really like submissions, so if you're a student or alum,
show us what you're working on!

We really like to follow UArts alums and students, but if you'd like us to unfollow your tumblr, just ask. If we re-blog your work in some form and it was not attributed, drop us a note in the ask box and we'll correct it.

The University of the Arts is celebrating the launch of its brand-new BFA in Creative Writing degree.

Join us on the 3rd floor of the Rittenhouse Square Barnes & Noble for the first UARTS POETRY SLAM, where local high school juniors and seniors will have the chance to show off their creative writing talents by reading their work for family, friends and peers. Students are invited to read original work totaling three minutes, of any style and subject matter, although we ask that language and topics are family-friendly.

Awards, including tuition scholarships for the BFA in Creative Writing program and UArts Pre-College Summer Institute, will be given in this juried event.

Admission is FREE and all are welcome.

To RSVP, contact the University of the Arts Office of Admission at 215-717-6049 or admissions@uarts.edu.

Tonight’s orientation program included a campus tour / city walk and a meet & greet. Discussion included: where to get the best food, where to score free stuff (performance tickets and cookies!), and where to dance when the urge strikes at 2am.

You know, art school essentials.

Alas, it’s not ALWAYS sunny in Philadelphia… but a little rain won’t dampen our enthusiasm for the arriving new Spring 2013 students!

See UArts School of Theater alumni in action, on stage, in Philadelphia, right now!

Jake Blouch and Michael Doherty are performing in Assistance at The Wilma Theater.

Both productions run through February 3rd.

UArts sophomore and junior Musical Theatre majors perform their jazz finals - a jazz dance based upon a ballet.

The Mummers Parade, marching here before UArts’ Hamilton Hall, is a colorful confluence of both visual and performing arts, brightening New Year’s Day in Philadelphia for well over a century.
